Accommodation and food

CCDC has been associated with Vidyadeep college for over 3 years now.  We are grateful to them for making it possible for us to offer our conference at very modest rates. Vidyadeep is both the venue for conference, and place of stay for outstation participants.

The rooms in Vidyadeep College are simple, clean and well maintained. They are furnished minimally- with a cot, a small cupboard to keep your stuff, an attached bathroom, a table and chair. Bedsheets, pillow covers and blankets are provided. Hot water is not available in the rooms, but can be got from a source outside, in the corridor. 

Please follow the College timings for breakfast and  dinner. If you are planning to have dinner outside, please inform the canteen before 5 PM the same day. 

All workshop participants will have mid morning tea/coffee, lunch and afternoon tea/coffee together. The meals will be simple but wholesome. As you are in the South, be prepared for rice, rice, rice! 

When you arrive: 

• Please write and let us know the date and time of your arrival. We need to give this information to Vidyadeep College, so they are expecting you.
• Please inform us if you will be needing food when you arrive, so we may inform the canteen accordingly. 
• When you reach Vidyadeep College, please give your name to the security guard at the gate, inform him that a room has been booked for you for a week, and he will guide you. 

If you’re coming by train: 

• Please get down at Bangalore Cantonment station if you can – it is closer to the venue - or Bangalore City station. From either station, the most convenient way to travel to the venue is by autorickshaw. From Cantonment Station, it’s a distance of about 7 kms,and may cost around Rs 70. If you’re coming before 8 AM or after 9PM, you will be charged extra. 
• Please ask the driver to take you to Vidyadeep College, on Ulsoor (sometimes spelt Halasuru) Road. Landmarks to mention: Manipal Centre, near MG Road. 

From the Airport : 

Air-conditioned taxis will cost approximately Rs. 750/- And the travel time will be about1hour, depending  on traffic.

Pl. take route nos 4 or 6 and alight at Lakeside Hospital (near Ulsoor Lake).

The fare for this distance is approximately Rs.165/- and the travel time is approximately between 1 hour and 1 hour 30mins, depending on traffic.

From this bus stop, you will need to take an auto to Vidyadeep College-a distance of about 2kms, at Rs27/-. Please carry the route map with you, and remember to mention the landmarks-MG Road, Manipal Centre.
